H-4 Visa
An H-4 Visa is a dependent visa issued to the immediate family members (spouse and unmarried children under 21 years of age) of H-1B visa holders. It allows family members to accompany or join the primary H-1B visa holder in the United States. The H-4 visa helps families stay together while one member works in a specialized occupation under the H-1B visa program. In some cases, H-4 visa holders may also be eligible to study, apply for a driverโs license, or even obtain employment authorization under specific conditions.
The eligibility criteria for an H-4 visa include being an immediate family member of a valid H-1B visa holder and providing proper documentation of relationship, such as a marriage or birth certificate. Applicants must also demonstrate a valid passport, visa application form, and proof of the H-1B visa holderโs status in the U.S.
